Since the beginning of my pregnancy many changes happened and I want to talk about in the next post (Friday), but today lets bring back a little nostalgia, so I want return to my usual Look of the day post and I this look I used for a work training I recently attended.

As always, I hope everything is great with you. As I wrote here before, I have been super busy since my return to NYC, but last week I and Hubby finally had a break: the afternoon was cool, fresh, great for a walk, so we took advantage of it and decided to go for a walk on Brooklyn Bridge Park.
The fashion world has been a little too quiet since Trump’s victory, and many people, myself included, have started to speculate what this means for the next first lady Melania Trump. Let’s remember that she wore that infamous pink pussy-bow Gucci’s shirt to a debate shortly after her husband’s scandal, the one were he’s caught on tape saying that he can grab a woman by her genitals. Melania’s team explained that wearing that shirt was not intentional, but who knows, right?
Fashion is commonly used to convey messages, and politicians and their families do this often, like Hillary and Bill Clinton wearing purple details on their clothes the night Hillary conceded to Trump: purple is the mix of blue and red (the colors of the Democratic and Republican party) which meant to symbolized the union of both parties.
It’s normal to see designers lining up to wear the First Lady, but let’s remember that Anna Wintour (Vogue’s editor) and Diana Von Furstenberg were both very aggressive in their campaigns pro Hillary; designers like Marc Jacobs and Tory Burch created the “Made for History” for Hillary and basically a large portion of fashion designers sided with the Democrats, so the question that remains is, will they give Melania a chance?
And, of course, does Melania want this chance? During the campaign she wore pieces bought of the rack, nothing unique or custom made, so maybe this will the route for the next First Lady? A bit unusual, but very possible.
While we don’t know what will happen I would like to remember some of the wonderful looks of our dear First Lady Michelle Obama. Mrs. Obama always displayed a friendly-chic style (I remember very well how much she was criticized by the snobs for using J. Crew), and also giving chance to young designers.
Hope all is well with you. Did you catch the Victoria’s Secret Runway Show that happened at the Grand Palais – Paris this year? I was very happy to see that among the 52 models we had many black beauties walking the runway.
Victoria’s Secret shows are well know for being a super glamorous affair, with lots of gorgeous women and great performers playing live. This year they had Lady Gaga, Bruno Mars and The Weeknd, and the show was divided in 6 segments: Road Ahead, Secret Angel, Mountain Romance, Pink Nation, Dark Angel and Bright Night Angel.
Now, let’s focus on the black models we had this year: Cindy Brown, Leomie Anderson, Joan Smalls, the lovely Maria Borges, Laís Ribeiro, not to mention the beautiful Jasmine Tookes who was chosen to wear the super coveted Fantasy Bra, created by jewelry designer Eddie Borgo.
The honor of wearing the most expensive piece of the collection was once of Tyra Banks in 1997, and Selita Ebanks in 2007, making Jasmine the 3rd black model to use the precious piece.
The Victoria’s Secret 2016 show also featured new faces such as Dilone, Paulo Herieth, Alanna Arrington, Zuri Tibby, Lameka Fox and Jourdana Phillips.
Let’s take a look at some of my favorite pieces?
Hope all is well with you. I’m doing great, very busy since my return to NYC. Autumn is here and it’s one of my favorite seasons. Cold without being too much, makes me want to drink hot cocoa and toast marshmallows in the fire…
But this month my husband and me don’t have time to do these things, I’ll keep planning for it to happen soon.
